Pregame Notes: Washington Capitals vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

For one final time this regular season the Caps and Pens will faceoff in what should be a great game in D.C tonight. The Caps will look to sweep the Pens, and for Braden Holtby he looks to continue his success against Pittsburgh this season. Here is the lineup based on today's morning skate.

Forwards:

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Burakovsky
Johansson-Kuznetsov-Brouwer
Laich-Fehr-Ward
Chimera-Latta-Wilson

Defense and Goalies:

Orpik-Carlson
Alzner-Niskanen
Schilling-Green

Holtby
Peters

Other Notes:

*It appears that Jay Beagle will be a healthy scratch tonight, Beagle has had a very good season but he had a rough game in Philly.

*It also looks like Jack Hillen will be out and that Cameron Schilling will again get a chance to show what he has to Head Coach Barry Trotz.

*Jason Chimera is going to get a chance to play with Michael Latta and Tom Wilson. Those two young guys are in there to play tough.

*Andre Burakovsky will be on the top line again as he has played well there at times. It will be important for him to play with speed and create offense and play steady defense when needed.

*Rumor Mill: From multiple website it looks like the Caps are at the top of the list for Flames F Curtis Glenncross. The Caps have been looking for someone to play with Ovechkin and Backstrom all year and he could be the solution down the stretch. The trade deadline is Monday March 2nd, however it is possible that if this trade happens that it might happen before Monday.

*For tonight though 2 big points are on the line and the Caps need to play fast and physical. If they continue to play well on the defensive end of the ice then they will have a chance to win again.
