Postgame Recap: Hurricanes 3 Caps 0

The Caps lost their 3rd game in a row on Friday against the last place Hurricanes. Another sloppy effort that hurt their chances of moving up in the standings. It's one thing to lose to the Pens who are actually a good team. However, zero effort against a last place team when you are in a playoff race, with the trade deadline coming up as well is unacceptable. Here are Carolina's highlights.

Caps/Hurricanes:

My Thoughts:

*No much to say really after last night's game to be honest. However, another rumor emerged as it appears that the Caps have had discussions with the Blackhawks regarding veteran forward Patrick Sharp. That would be an interesting move.

*The Hershey Bears continue their run of success with a 5-1 win against the Binghamton Senators. Bears got goals from Casey Wellman (2), Chris Brown, Tomas Kundratek, and Dustin Gazley. Also defensemen Nate Schmidt returned from his injury to get an assist. We will see if he gets a chance to come back up to the Caps.

*Overall the Caps better get going again. They are going to make the playoffs, but they better play up to the standard that Barry Trotz wants or Monday will be interesting. We will see who steps up Sunday when the Maple Leafs come to town.

What's Next: Sun. Mar. 1st vs. Toronto 7 p.m on CSN
