Postgame Recap: Blues 4 Caps 3

The Caps tried to fight back but was unable to overcome a two goal 3rd period deficit and have now lost 6 of their last 7 games. Now the games will get bigger as the Caps are hitting a bump in the road.

Caps/Blues:

My Thoughts:

*Alex Ovechkin got back on track scoring two goals in the losing effort. I believe that OV played a good all around game.

*Justin Peters got the start and was decent. I did think he gave up a lot of rebounds but I also believe he made some very good saves. It's difficult because he hasn't played a lot this season.

*Karl Alzner scored his 4th goal of the season as the Caps got good traffic in front of the net and the puck sailed past Brian Elliot.

*The Caps did not box out the Blues players very well and every goal the Caps scored to make the game closer the Blues answered.

*The Caps have to get going soon. This bump in the road needs to end soon so they can stay in the hunt in the Metro Division.

*The Hershey Bears ended the weekend with a 2-0 win over the Norfolk Admirals, Philip Grubauer earned the shutout.

What's Next: Tuesday Feb. 3rd vs. LA Kings 7 p.m on CSN
