Pregame Notes: Washington Capitals at. Los Angeles Kings

The Caps are in LA for a rematch with the Kings. The Caps beat the Kings 4-0 at Verizon Center a week ago. Here is the lineup for tonight's game.

Forwards:

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Johansson
Chimera-Kuznetsov-Brouwer
Laich-Fehr-Ward
Burakovsky-Latta-Beagle

Defense and Goalies:

Orpik-Carlson
Alzner-Niskanen
Olesky-Green

Holtby
Peters

Other Notes:

*Steve Olesky will make his 2014-2015 NHL debut tonight, Jack Hillen will be a healthy scratch as Olesky will be paired with Mike Green.

*Braden Holtby will play the first of this weekend's back to back California road games. Holtby was the one who shutout the Kings last week.

*The Caps were able to get a big win in San Jose on Wednesday to start the road trip off right. The Panthers have lost a couple in a row so the Caps can pull farther away from them. They still have plenty of work to do though as the Islanders, Pens, and Rangers keep winning.

*The key for tonight's game is to try to matchup Eric Fehr with Anze Kopitar because that seemed to work the last time these two teams saw each other.

*The Caps defense has to play a little better than how they played in San Jose as giving up 4 goals would not be a good idea to do again tonight. Most times this season the Caps have been able to respond from a sub par defensive effort.

*The Hershey Bears beat the Albany Devil's 1-0 on Friday night behind a goal by Stan Galiev and a shutout by Philip Grubauer. The Bears remain 2 points up on Wilkes-Barrie Scranton for 1st in the East Division.

*With 27 games left the big games begin, again the Caps are in good position but they can still improve on that down the stretch. With the trade deadline coming up it will be interesting to see what happens.

Gametime 10 p.m on CSN
