Postgame Recap: Caps 5 Ducks 3

The Caps got two goals from Alex Ovechkin and two more assists from OV to Andre Burakovsky who had his first multi-goal game of his career to sweep the Ducks in the season series. Here are the Highlights.

Caps/Ducks:

My Thoughts:

*Justin Peters was able to earn is first win since the early months of the season. He still had some trouble with rebound control however, he was able to help the team get a huge win after the loss on Saturday.

*Alex Ovechkin was a beast with two goals and two assists in front of his former coach on the other bench. OV is now back in front of Rick Nash for the race for the Rocket Richard Trophy.

*Andre Burakovsky had one of his best games of his early career scoring twice on rushes with Alex Ovechkin. If Burakovsky plays like this he will find himself in the lineup more often.

*Marcus Johansson has been quiet of late but was able to score a goal on a breakaway, MoJo needs to find his shooting stick.

*The Caps earned two points to inch closer to the teams in front of them in the Metro Division, they still remain 10 points up on the Panthers who are the first team out of the playoff picture. As of now the Caps are in a good position to make the playoffs, they just need to accumulate points. Winning two of three on the California trip was huge.
