Pregame Notes: Washington Capitals vs. Boston Bruins

The Caps are back home with two games left. The Bruins are fighting for their playoff lives while the Caps are looking to go up 3 on the Islanders for 2nd in Metro Division.  Here is the lineup.

Forwards:

Ovechkin-Kuznetsov-Ward
Johansson-Backstrom-Brouwer
Glencross-Laich-Chimera
Burakovsky-Latta-Galiev

Defense and Goalies:

Orpik-Carlson
Alzner-Niskanen
Gleason-Green

Holtby
Peters

Other Notes:

*Stan Galiev will make his NHL debut tonight with Tom Wilson and Eric Fehr banged up and not playing tonight. Galiev has had a breakout season in Hershey with 25 goals and 20 assists in 64 games. He has been playing the powerplay point position for the Bears.

*Andre Burakovsky is also staying up with the big club for now as well and play on the fourth line.

*Braden Holtby will indeed continue to start in net for the Caps as their is still a lot to play for. The Caps are eyeing the number two seed in the Metro Division playoffs.

*Evgeny Kuznetsov has played great since he was put up with Alex Ovechkin. Kuzzy is playing with a lot of confidence and can be a key factor going into the playoffs.

*Brooks Laich will play center again tonight with Eric Fehr out with a upper body injury.

*Tom Wilson is out after taking a puck to the head while trying to block a shot in Detroit on Sunday. I have heard that he is doing better but not ready to go yet.

*Jay Beagle's injury continues to be worse than originally thought. Beags did say that he is eyeing Game 1 of the playoffs which will be still atleast a week away.

*Overall this game will be a battle, the Bruins are desperate and the Caps need to win so they can go up 3 points for 2nd in the Metro. They want to start the season at the Verizon Center, the Caps have to play with energy and play a hard heavy game to come away with two points tonight.
