Pregame Notes: Washington Capitals at. Philadelphia Flyers

The Caps are in the City of Brotherly Love for their first trip to Wells Fargo Center this year to take on the Flyers. The Caps are coming off a loss where they didn't play their best game. Here is what the lineup might look like tonight based on the morning skate, note Brooks Orpik is a gametime decision.

Forwards:

Ovechkin-Kuznetsov-Oshie
Johansson-Backstrom-Burakovsky
Chimera-Beagle-Williams
Laich-Latta-Wilson

Defense and Goalies:

Schmidt-Carlson
Alzner-Niskanen
Orlov-Chorney

Holtby
Grubauer

Other Notes:

*Braden Holtby is back in tonight and will be opposite Steve Mason, former Cap Michael Neuvirth will not face his old team tonight.

*Now if Brooks Orpik plays tonight then he will play with John Carlson and Schmidt will play with Orlov. If he is out then Taylor Chorney will be back in the lineup.

*Michael Latta returns to the lineup tonight with Chandler Stephenson getting the night off. Barry Trotz thought that Latta would be a better fit to face the Flyers.

*The Caps need to play will more energy tonight, there were times the other night against the Red Wings where you were waiting for them to come to life. When they did late in the game it was just simply too late.

*Alex Ovechkin again will look to pass Sergei Federov for most goals scored by a Russian born player. OV currently has 483 career goals.

*Overall the Caps need to come out with energy and play a solid two way game. The Flyers are not having a great start with a new coach so it will be important to jump on them right away and then keep going to get two points in the standings. The Caps have to keep winning because the Rangers and Penguins are on fire.

Gametime 7:00 p.m on CSN
