Postgame Recap: Stars 3 Caps 2

The game was tied in the third period between the Caps and the Stars but a turnover led to Jason Spezza scoring the winning goal and sending the Caps into the locker room with a loss.

My Thoughts:

*Nick Backstrom had a goal and assist, and overall a good game on the top line. At times they were buzzing.

*Alex Ovechkin finally scored his 484 career goal passing Sergei Federov for most among Russian players. Maybe now the pressure will be off of him.

*Phillipp Grubauer played pretty well, I don't think he could have done anything on any of the Stars goals.

*The fourth line had a decent game and was able to put pressure on the Stars but they were unable to score on the few chances they did get. It is good to see them create chances but they have to score.

*Overall this was a game the Caps were in but I'm frustrated because again they gave up the first goal and turning the puck over was a problem all night. The Caps are still a very good team but if they want to stop messing around and become a great team then they have some things to work on.
