Game 3 Notes: Washington Capitals at. Philadelphia Flyers

Tonight the series shifts to Wells Fargo Center as the Caps look to take a commanding 3-0 series lead in a see of orange tonight. It won't be easy as the Flyers will be playing their first home game since Owner Ed Snider passed away. Here is the lineup for the Caps tonight.

Forwards:

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Oshie
Burakovksy-Kuznetsov-Williams
Chimera-Richards-Johansson
Winnik-Beagle-Wilson

Defense and Goalies:

Orpik-Carlson
Alzner-Niskanen
Orlov-Schmidt

Holtby
Grubauer

Other Notes:

*From everything I am hearing Steve Mason will still be in net tonight for the Flyers despite having a bit of a rough game in Game 2.

*The Caps have been winning the special teams battle, if they are going to quiet the Philly crowd tonight they have to score on the power play and try to limit the Flyers power plays. It will be hard because the Flyers are getting close to double digit power plays in this series.

*Braden Holtby has been dominant so far in this series, now he will be tested with the atmosphere inside Wells Fargo Center tonight. If Holts remains calm and plays well then the Caps can frustrate the Flyers and they will begin to press.

*The Caps have to keep their heads up tonight, knowing that the Flyers are down 2-0 in the series and they are at home. I expect them to take runs tonight, the Caps just have to play smart and get pucks out when they can.

*I would like to see the 2nd line produce tonight, I believe that Evgeny Kuznetsov and Justin Williams have not hit their stride yet. I think they will be a key in this game tonight.

*The Caps defensively have ben great against the Flyers forwards, all they have to do is continue to do that and block shots. If they defense blocks shots and Holtby is on his game, it limits the quality chances the Flyers can have.

*Overall this is going to be a good challenge for the Caps, I totally expect the Flyers to play their best game of the series tonight. However, if the Caps keep calm and weather the storm then I believe they will be fine. It should be a great game to watch tonight, we will see if the Caps can put a strangle hold on the series.
