Caps/Oilers:
My Thoughts:
*Alex Ovechkin remains hot as the captain scored twice and is now up to 27 goals on the season.
*Jay Beagle continues to play very well with his goal in the first period. It was a product of going to the net, and his stick was active with the deflection.
*The Caps had this game and with the Pens loss could have been within a point but instead a SO loss now puts the Caps a point behind the Rangers and two behind the Pens. The Caps can't give away points like last night anymore. It's one thing if it happens once but it can't happen again.
*Braden Holtby made some good saves but I feel like it wasn't his strongest performance either.
*The Caps will go into the All-Star break in a Wild Card spot seven points up on the Panthers who are the first team out of the playoffs right now. If the Caps get back to what they were doing before this current three game skid. Then they can move up again in the standings.
