Caps/Flyers Highlights:
My Thoughts:
*Alex Ovechkin continued to stay hot with his power play goal in the first period. OV has been playing a solid two way game this season.
*Karl Alzner scored his 4th of the season in the third to give the Caps the lead however they were unable to secure it.
*Braden Holtby was the reason why this game was close, however I know he would want the Umberger goal back. Still he is the reason the Caps were able to atleast get a point in the standings.
*Andre Burakovsky picked up an assist on the Alzner goal, making it two points in his last three games.
*Nate Schmidt came back into the lineup and didn't have one of his best games.
*One of the reasons what the Caps lost was in my opinion was their mental game. They made mistakes with the puck and passes were not on target. The Caps couldn't sustain pressure for long against the Flyers.
*Overtime penalties have been a problem and is something the Caps must improve on in the second half of the season because at the end of the day it cost them a point. Also, the Rangers won and moved back into 3rd in the Metro though the Caps are tied in points with them.
