Pregame Notes: Washington Capitals vs. New York Islanders

The Caps look to rebound from a tough game against the Panthers on Thursday as they host the Islanders. It is the Isles first trip to DC this season as the Caps won in Brooklyn earlier in the season.
Here is the lineup for tonight's game.

Forwards:

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Oshie
Burakovsky-Kuznetsov-Williams
Chimera-Richards-Wilson
Larch-Sill-Latta

Defense and Goalies:

Schmidt-Carlson
Alzner-Niskanen
Orlov-Chorley/Ness

Hotly
Grubauer

Other Notes:

*Alex Ovechkin returns to the lineup tonight after missing Tuesday as he was suspended for having a injury and missing the All-Star game. The power play missed him on Tuesday so it will be nice to have him back.

*Braden Holtby got a night off on Tuesday and will be in tonight. The Islanders will counter with Jaro Halak.

*Marcus Johansson is still out, so Mike Richards will center the third line once again tonight.

*The Caps need more from the 4th line, most notably Brooks Laich. Brooksy is very good on the penalty kill but he really needs to start to pitch in once in a while offensively.

*Taylor Chorney has the flu and it appears that he will try to give it a go tonight. However, if he takes the warm up and can't go then we will see Aaron Ness make a return to the lineup as he was called up from Hershey.

*The power play has to be better tonight, and with Alex Ovechkin back I believe that it will be. Going 0-8 was not good and it won't win you games.

*Overall I think the Caps need to just skate and get their legs back. They have not played many games in the last couple weeks and the last two games it has shown. I expect better from them tonight.
