Brooks Laich has been placed on Waivers

Well we have been hearing for a couple of days but it has now happened. Brooks Laich, long time loyal Cap has been placed on waivers. This move had to happen because the Caps are tight in salary and with Laich being paid 4 million to play on the 4th line it was time. This frees up the activation of Jay Beagle to return to the lineup.

I just want to say something to the Caps fans who have been hard on Laich. Though I agree that it is time to move on don't forget how much of a class act he is. This guy has been nothing but loyal to the Caps community and franchise. So, just don't forget that, he could have gone somewhere else a couple of years ago but stayed.
Now the kicker is if he does report to the Hershey Bears than he can be brought back up if they need him for the playoffs. So, though it looks like the end he may still me with the team come April. In 59 games Laich has only scored 1 goal and 6 assists, and has not been the same since hurting his groin during the lockout a couple years ago. We will see what happens, it is possible that the Caps make a move in the next couple days to gear up for a Stanley Cup run.
