Pregame Notes: Washington Capitals at. New York Rangers Game 7

It all comes down to this, the Caps will have a chance to rewrite history as they will try to win a Game 7 against the most talented team in the Eastern Conference. Here is the projected lineup.

Forwards:

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Johansson
Chimera-Kuznetsov-Ward
Burakovsky-Beagle-Brouwer
Laich-Fehr-Wilson

Defense and Goalies:

Orpik-Carlson
Alzner-Niskanen
Gleason-Green

Holtby
Peters

More Notes:

*It looks like Eric Fehr will be in tonight, Fehr has been out since Game 3 of the Islanders series. He will take Curtis Glencross's spot.

*Alex Ovechkin said the Caps will win, it is time for him to make the next step in his career. The Rangers have done great against him so far this series and OV will have to give it everything he has tonight.

*Braden Holtby I thought had an off night in Game 6, he will need to be his best tonight if the Caps are to advance to play Tampa Bay.

*Henrik Lundqvist has been great as well, and the Caps will need to find ways to score a couple on him tonight.

*One positive the Caps can look back at is the way they played in the last two periods of Game 6, they were dominating the Rangers but just couldn't get one more past Lundqvist. The Caps have to bring that intensity from the get go.

*The Hershey Bears are tied 2-2 in their second round series with the Hartford Wolf Pack, Game 5 is at Giant Center tonight.

*Overall the only way to stop the questions about Game 7 losses is by changing history. This will be the toughest game of the season for the Caps. Win or lose the Caps have to play for 60 minutes and leave it all on the ice and leave no regrets.
