The Caps have been quiet leading into free agency that starts on July 1st. The Draft is tomorrow and Saturday and I will post about the newest Caps later this weekend. First here are some thing that are going on when it comes to free agency.
*First it looks like Mike Green and Eric Fehr's time in DC is done. Today news broke that both of them will test the free agent market.
*For Mike Green I saw this coming. He was make 5 plus million dollars to play and the 3rd defense pairing. With the resigning of Nate Schmidt it sealed the deal. Greenie had an up and down time in Washington and it will be weird not to see number 52 on the ice in red. What this means is we will see Nate Schmidt and Dmitry Orlov get their chances to be full time players.
*Eric Fehr is interesting I thought they might try to retain him but maybe Brian McClellan want to resign Jay Beagle and maybe use the left over money for Braden Holtby or Joel Ward. The thing holding them back on Ward is term of contract.
I will keep updates as much as possible, remember the Draft starts tomorrow night.
