Pregame Notes: Washington Capitals at. Boston Bruins

The other group of Caps are in Boston tonight to try to move the Caps to 2-0 in the preseason after last night's 2-0 win over the Carolina Hurricanes. Here is the lineup based on the morning skate.

Forwards:

Bourque-Burakovsky-Williams
Beagle-Stephenson-Carey
Elgestal-Latta-Brown
O'Brien-Sill-Mitchell

Defense:

Stanton-Carlson
Schmidt-Bowey
Moore-Lewington

Peters
Grubauer

Other Notes:

*Justin Williams will put on a Caps jersey for the first time tonight and will be on the top line. Williams projects to be the second line RW.

*Justin Peters will start the game tonight but like last night the goalies will split time. So, we will also see Philip Grubauer.

*I am interested to see how Madison Bowey does tonight. Bowey is a guy that should be in Hershey but he had a heck of a season last year.

*Andre Burakovsky will play center tonight, again with Nick Backstrom out he might have to play center for the first month or so of the season.

*I am interested also to see if Liam O'Brien can have a strong preseason like he did last year. In my opinion there is a roster spot for a depth player. I think it's between O'Brien, Chris Brown, Stan Galiev, and you can throw Zach Sill and Jakub Vrana in the conversation to.

*So, tonight another group of guys gets their turn to try to impress Barry Trotz. It looks like first cuts will be coming this weekend so we will see what happens.

Gametime 7 p.m and the game is not televised
