Postgame Recap: Canadians 1 Caps 0 OT

The Caps gave a great effort at the Bell Centre yesterday outplaying the Canadians for most of the afternoon. The one problem is that Carey Price played like the All-Start goalie that he is and was able to help steal the game. The Caps were atleast able to earn a point but the Rangers ofcourse won again so the Caps are back in a Wild Card position. Here are yesterday's highlight's

Caps/Habs:

My Thought's:

*The Caps got plenty of opportunities to score on the powerplay, but they were unable to set up most of the time as the Canadians pressured them and got a couple of shorthanded chances.

*Braden Holtby was outstanding. Holts and Carey Price gave us a good show yesterday that true hockey fans enjoy. Now it would have been better if the Caps ended the game in front but sometimes that's how it happens.

*The good news is for the Caps that it appears that the defense is getting back on track only giving up 1 goal in 2 games is a recipe for success. Yesterday's loss was disappointing but if they keep playing this way then they will be ok. The way they played in Columbus and when they lost to Edmonton is not the right way. The last two games were good solid games.

*The Caps as a team did play well, if is wasn't for Jay Beagle getting hooked a bit in the first couple minutes he might have scored, and remember they hit three posts. So, this game could have been a little different. However, to be fair P.K Subban hit the post late in the 3rd as well.

*The Caps penalty kill was very good yesterday, they blocked shots and protected Braden Holtby pretty well.

*The Hershey Bears lost to the Syracuse Crunch 3-2 in a shootout at the Giant Center last night. The Bears got goals from Kris Newbury, and Philippe Cornet. Pheonix Copley was in net for the Bears who are now 24-13-4 and 1st in the East Division.
