Pregame Notes: Washington Capitals at. Columbus Blue Jackets

*Update: Kuznetsov on 2nd line

The Caps make their first trip to Nationwide Arena tonight as the Caps and Blue Jackets will face each other for a third time this season. The Jackets came into Verizon Center last week and beat the Caps in overtime. Here is the lineup for tonight's tilt.

Forwards:

Ovechkin-Backstrom-Wilson
Johansson-Latta-Brouwer
Laich-Fehr-Ward
Chimera-Kuznetsov-Beagle

Defense and Goalies:

Orpik-Carlson
Alzner-Niskanen
Schmidt-Green

Holtby
Peters

What to Watch:

*It looks like Michael Latta will skate with Marcus Johansson and Troy Brouwer tonight. So that means Evgeny Kuznetsov will be put down in the lineup.

*Andre Burakovsky will be a healthy scratch again for the Caps. Burakovsky has been practicing and learning. Trotz has been keeping the line of communication open with Burakovsky to keep the younster's sprit up.

*No official word but I am 90% sure Braden Holtby will be in the net again tonight, if any changes I will update right before game time. Sergei Bobrovsky has been on fire for Columbus lately I'm sure he will face the Caps tonight.

*The Blue Jackets are playing very well and tonight's game will be a tough one for the Caps. However, I think that it is a winnable game because the Caps have played well lately too.

*Last time out the Caps had a ton of powerplays against Columbus but Bobrovsky turned everything away. The key will be getting traffic in front of the net for deflections and rebounds. Have to put pressure on the Jackets early and often.

*Troy Brouwer has played very well lately and he can make a difference when he is moving his feet. We will have to see how he does if indeed Michael Latta will be centering that line tonight.

*The Caps have earned points in 6 straight games, it is important that they continue to get points because the Metro Division is going to tighten up with the way the Rangers and the Blue Jackets have been playing the last week.

*Gametime 7 p.m on CSN
